HO-8: Modified Coverage Form

Tory Tiger Explaining Insurance Policy
"The HO-8 is policy for all you folks rocking historic homes. Got a house so old it could’ve babysat Abe Lincoln? This one’s for you. It’s designed for those charming, older homes that would cost a small fortune to rebuild with their original, fancy-schmancy materials. Fire? Windstorm? The usual suspects? Covered. But don’t expect full-on replacement cost—it’s more like, 'Here’s enough to fix it with modern stuff, pal.'"

HO-8: Modified Coverage Form

The HO-8 form, or modified coverage form, is designed for older or historically significant homes that may not qualify for standard policies due to their replacement cost exceeding market value. It provides named peril coverage for the dwelling and personal property and reimburses losses on an actual cash value basis rather than replacement cost. This policy is ideal for preserving older homes while offering essential protection at a more affordable rate.
